The steep slant and quarterd corners of the loft
roof would help wind resistance on the highway a lot.

Another example of a bus that has been cut down before construction to resemble a flatbed. This rig is framed with dimensional lumber and sheathed with plywood. Although I never saw this bus personally, I do know that some conversions which used this technique had problems on the road, due to motion causing the framing to shift. The result is windows and doors that stick, warped siding, and in one conspicuous case, a cab-over loft that collapsed onto the cab.

The hand-fitted shingles are a nice touch, and I particularly like that arrangement of rear-windows and door, which resembles the original school bus body. Placement of the lights and license re-enforce this. In my opinion, it is often useful to attempt to work from the original heritage of something, than to force an all-new appearance onto what is obviously an old school bus.
