Blastolene Boyz 4

True to form, Randy Grubb has (at least mostly) completed the Decoliner according to schedule (at least, mostly on schedule, it seems that the "completion date" was bumped forward four months when the project looked like it would be finished this year some time). The engine and mechanicals of this Cruiser are still unknown.

Here it is, with portholes installed and all shined up for a stay at some Intergalactic RV park:

I was somewhat skeptical that the "flying bridge" steering wheel and controls are actually connected to anything. Apparently, the implementation of this is complete. This photo shows that the wheel in the cab gets removed, and a long shaft extends through the ceiling from the driving position above. Wonder what the DOT would have to say about that?

The other interior photos on the site show some minimal amount of appliances and mobile living fittings, probably enough to keep it legal in Oregon while registered as a motor home. The flying bridge appears to have boat-style teak decking installed.

What's next for the Silver Slug? Some discussion groups I've read are indicating that it will be for sale, very likely to generate some capital for Randy's next project, whatever that could be??? Interesting to note the prominent facecrook logo top and center on the flying bridge, from what I can see on that site, the rig has made a trip to the Las Vegas Convention Center to attend a promotional event.
